JLPT Test Scoring





Scaled scores (and not Absolute scores) are being used in the JLPT exam.
This is to provide more consistent scoring and fairness to all examinees, regardless of the year the exam is taken.

Scoring sections of N1-N3 and N4-N5 are different. Overall pass marks and sectional pass marks for each level are shown in the table below.
